Omakon Was Founded with a Clear Vision
To connect Vancouver’s most discerning tables to the seafood ecosystem behind Japan’s finest kitchens.
Rooted in over 50 years of family legacy in premium seafood supply, Omakon (short for Omakase Connection) was born from the belief that sourcing ingredients should feel as intentional and inspired as the dishes they help create.
We exist to support chefs who demand more than just fresh - we support chefs who understand that exceptional dining begins long before service.

Omakon works through a network of specialist vendors inside the market, each dedicated to a specific product: tuna, uni, seasonal fish, and carefully raised farmed species.
Through these relationships, Omakon connects Canada’s chefs and hosts to the same seafood ecosystem trusted by Tokyo’s most respected kitchens.

Toyosu Market is the heart of Japan’s seafood world.
For decades, the world’s best chefs have walked its aisles in search of exceptional product. Outside Japan, access to that ecosystem has always been limited.
Omakon was created to open that door.
Through relationships built inside the market, including years of sourcing experience within Toyosu’s vendor network, Omakon connects Canada’s chefs and hosts to seafood selected at the source.
